Research and Data Visualization Development Process

To raise awareness in Newark, in comparison to its neighborhoods and the broader U.S., this initiative focuses on addressing slavery, mass incarceration, racial harm, and segregation. The goal is to repair the lasting impacts of these injustices. A main element of this effort is the development of a brochure for the Newark Neighborhood Reparations Toolkit, designed to support the Community Dialogue.
Each neighborhood is represented by a unique brochure color, and the background image features the William P. Hayes Home Housing Complex during its construction. This brochure is the result of data development and a thorough research process, aiming to provide an informative and visual resource for those involved in the dialogue.
